PEANUTS: The Movie (2015)

I storyboarded on Peanuts for 2 years. While all projects carry their share of challenges, trying to stay true to a beloved comic strip and series of classic specials meant having to work under very specific and rigidly defined aesthetic rules. For example, when Snoopy took on the persona of famous WWI Flying Ace, we were never to show the bottom of the doghouse (it was never seen in the strip or specials). As you can see in the following scene where Snoopy secretly pursues the Red Baron in search of his missing love, Fifi, a spotlight allowed for some much needed visual variety and a fun gag. (Witness all the story team's brief experiment in importing 3D models into Photoshop.)
